Steinbrenner Field (Spring Training) on 3/25/2012
I met my love, Ben, at a Yankees-Twins Spring training game on March 27, 2011. I had arrived at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers early to take pictures of the Yankees players during batting practice. I was standing behind the Yankee's dugout, when I heard this gentleman standing next to me trying to start up a conversation. Being there by myself, I did not want to give out too much information. In fact, when I left the area, I had a bit of a heavy heart because I felt "a spark" but never even found out his name. I got home and remembered something that I had heard on Craigs List called Missed Connections. I was sort of afraid to write anything on the site and was almost certain that Ben would Never read any postings. After a day, I got up enough courage to write something. Of course, the first response was from some guy who said that he wasn't him but could be if I wanted him to be. The second response was from Ben. He had told me previously that he was from New Jersey and where he had been staying since November 2010. I was so shocked that I did not know what to do!! I emailed him and we met one day for lunch but discovered that each of us was dating someone else. Both of our other relationships were terminated the beginning of May and Ben went back to New Jersey for the summer. We kept in contact by phone and email, mostly talking about the Yankees. I had considered moving across the state when Ben professed his love to me and stated that God had a plan for us and a reason for us to meet on 3/27. Ben came back to Florida the end of October and has decided to become a full time Florida resident. We are Happily living together in Naples and have enjoyed going to three more Yankee Spring training games here in SWFL. We celebrated our 1st anniversary of our meeting with a trip to Tampa for a lovely evening and dinner on 3/24, followed by a Yankee-Tiger game on 3/25. I surprised Ben by upgrading our tickets to the 2nd row behind the Yankee dugout. It was just a perfect day and a perfect way to celebrate......to celebrate our Love and anniversary of that first Yankee Spring training game.
I love the fact that Tommy Bahama has produced this great shirt for the MLB. Like all Tommy Bahama products, it is very classic and unique. Every fan would enjoy wearing this shirt proudly!! GO YANKEES!!!!
